Nia Move of the Week

 #9 Closed Stance

Beneftis: Practicing Closed Stance trains the upper body to work efficiently with the lower body.

From the Nia Technique book:
Stand in place, with your big toes touching and your heels slightly apart. Keep your feet and knees relaxed, and your spine tall. Practice by walking a few steps, then stopping in closed stance. Imagine that you are a deeply rooted tree. Sense your entire skeleton, and sound the vowel "o" to create volume in your chest cavity.

Each week in 2010 we are highlighting one of the 52 moves of the Nia Technique.

Information about the move of the week is posted in the Pecore studio on the bulletin board.

Take your Nia practice deeper and learn about the 52 moves!
